SOTHA NAKABAYASHI (JAPAN)

Sohta Nakabayashi was born in Tokyo (Japan) in 2000 and began studying guitar at the age of three, with teacher Takayuki Azuma. In 2004, he met guitarist Manuel Babiloni on one of his tours in Japan, who became his reference teacher and with whom he maintained constant contact through regular meetings, both in Spain and Japan, until his sudden death in 2015. As a performer, he has given more than 50 concerts in Finland, Austria, Sweden, Japan, the United States and Spain, as well as master classes. He has won more than 20 international awards, including first prize at the XXl Texas Guitar Competition (USA), XVIII Concurso Internacional Guitarra Ciutat d'Elx (Spain), XIII Sarajevo International Guitar Competition (Bosnia Herzegovina), XIX Uppsala Internationella Gitarrfestival Competition (Sweden), XIV Concurso Internazionale di Chitarra Alirio Díaz (Italy) and of course the CIGA Junior 22 of the Alhambra Guitarras Foundation, among others. Sohta Nakabayashi plays a Deseada by Javier Mengua l, an exclusive model from Alhambra Guitarras.
