Spanish Tradition, Innovation and Artisanal Excellence
In the early 1960s , Francisco Martínez Clavel saw the potential of a classic of Spanish culture: the guitar. He proposed to his partners Ricardo Llorens and José María Vilaplana, who ran a small carpentry workshop in Muro de Alcoy (Alicante), the creation of a prototype of a classical Spanish guitar. Thus a dream was born in the form of an instrument that, after the success of the first model, inspired the founding of "Manufacturas Jachi" and laid the foundations of a brand that continues to shine today. In 1965 , after years of growth and the entry of new partners who contributed their vision, "Manufacturas Alhambra, SA" was born. Since then, the company has grown to position itself as a world leader in the creation of high-quality string instruments, bringing the essence of the Spanish guitar to more than 70 countries .

Do you have any questions?
These are the most frequently asked questions
Thank you for placing your trust in an Alhambra guitar.
Below we explain a series of recommendations for the conservation of your instrument:
- Extreme humidity and dryness are dangerous, as is the rapid change from one to the other. Avoid hanging your guitar on a wall facing the outside (as these tend to absorb and transmit moisture) or in an area where pipes pass through. Also, do not expose your guitar to the sun for long periods of time, as it could reach very high temperatures and the guitar would suffer irreparable damage.
- When the guitar must travel by plane, loosen the strings completely.
- It is advisable to keep the instrument between 40 and 60% relative humidity . When the humidity is less than 40%, the wood may crack and the string height may drop, which may cause lisping. When the humidity is greater than 70%, peeling, loss of sound and the string height may rise may occur.
The MIC card is an identification and authenticity card for your guitar. It is unique and exclusive for each instrument and, by registering the serial number that appears on it, it extends the warranty of your guitar to 4 years . Keep your guitar's MIC card, it will facilitate all communication with Alhambra and will also add value to your instrument.
If you purchased the guitar before 2020, you must contact us to obtain the serial number before registering.
- To clean dust from the wood, simply rub gently with a slightly damp cotton cloth (you can use water or a specific guitar cleaning product). Always avoid products containing solvents or alcohol.
- After wiping off the dust, apply a little Vaseline to the fretboard with a clean cloth. A cloth moistened with alcohol can be used to remove dirt accumulated from heavy use.
- Dirt that accumulates between the frets and the fingerboard can be removed with the tip of a toothpick. Do not use other pointed or sharp materials, as this could damage the wood.
- Grease the tuning machines with a little sewing machine oil.
- Cleaning your strings will extend their life and restore their original shine. You can do this after playing, using a clean cloth moistened with alcohol, passing it under and along the strings. It is common for strings to wear out more due to excessive sweating.
- Keep your guitar strings always tuned to the same pitch, and if you want to change them, remove one, put the new one on and tune it with the others before moving on to the next. This way the bridge and top will not lose the tension they are used to.
- When the guitar has to travel by plane, the strings will have to be completely loosened.
