
Hermelindo Ruiz (Puerto Rico)
Puerto Rican guitarist Hermelindo Ruiz is one of the most prominent figures of the Latin American guitar at an international level. Ruiz has played in twenty-one (21) countries and has been commissioned by prestigious organizations in America, Europe, Australia and Asia. He has recently written works to be premiered at the Guitar Foundation of America in NYC, the Adelaide Guitar Festival in Australia, the hall and musicians of The Cleveland Orchestra in the USA, the Echoes Festival in London, England and the Ankara Guitar Festival, Turkey. In addition, he has just completed a solo concert tour in Japan and South Korea. He studied composition personally with guitar legends Leo Brouwer and Roland Dyens. He also has an extensive academic curriculum, including a master's degree from the prestigious Yale University in Connecticut, USA.
