
WAHEED MAMDOUH (JORDAN)
Waheed Mamdouh is a unique and talented guitarist, considered a master of many styles. Guitarist Waheed Mamdouh has lived in Cairo since 1991, moving to Dubai in 2013 where he earned a Diploma in Classical Guitar from the prestigious British Academy of Music. Performances have been a constant part of Waheed Mamdouh's life. Since 2001, he has been a prominent figure at major music festivals across the Arab world, including: Dubai Nights (UAE), Carthage Festival (Tunisia), Mawazine Festival (Morocco), Muscat Festival (Oman), Jerash Festival (Jordan), Doha Festival (Qatar) and Sharjah World Music Festival (UAE). He performed his first finger style concert in Jordan in 2012 during the Abu Dhabi International Music Festival in 2014. Waheed Mamdouh developed his own, distinctive style of playing Arabic music on the guitar, mixing it with a touch of Indian and Turkish traditions. An interesting style of his own, coupled with original compositions, has earned him the respect of the public. Guitarist Waheed Mamdouh has performed and collaborated with the most influential pop stars in the Arab world. Artists such as Warda Al-Jazairia, Mayyadah el Hinnawi, Mohammad Abdu, George Wasouf, Amr Diab, Sherine, among many others have collaborated with this charismatic performer and composer. Waheed also formed a "Guitar and String Quartet" with two violins, viola and cello. He performed his first concert, with tango and pop pieces, at the world-famous Cairo Opera House in May 2016.
