
ROLF JARDEMARK (SWEDEN)
Prominent guitarist from Sweden, Rolf Jardedemark is a versatile artist with a long series of recordings for the Imogena label. Jardemark began playing guitar when he was 12. “I bought my first guitar from a friend for a dollar! I had no teacher. I started with a blues record and a chord book.” Inspired by Barney Kessel, Larry Carlton and Pat Metheny, Jardemark also learned about jazz from Peter Almqvist when they both worked in a guitar shop. Jardemark went to college at 16, studying classical but playing jazz at night. Jardemark has played with Swedish artists Margaretha Evmark and Erik Gullbransson since the mid-1980s, toured Scandinavia with pianist-singer Michael Ruff in 1987, worked with the Bohuslͤn Big Band and had his own group since 1989. He has also worked with Nils Landgren , Lars Danielsson, Al Harewood, Bob Mintzer, Lew Soloff and James Morrison . (Scott Yanow - the great jazz guitarists).
